Minister puts figure on hot-air credits

More than a quarter of the units New Zealand used to meet its Kyoto commitments were hot-air credits, Climate Change Minister Paula Bennett said in Parliament yesterday.

It has long been known that many of the units being purchased by New Zealand emitters, and surrendered to the Crown, came from projects of dubious environmental integrity in Eastern Europe.
