Foresters greet environmental standards move

THE INTRODUCTION of a national environmental standard for plantation forestry is vitally needed, forest owners say.

The Government has just released the NES, to bring in a standard set of environment regulations covering eight forestry activities, including re-afforestation, earthworks, harvesting, quarrying and installing stream crossings.
