November shapes up as record dry month

Parts of New Zealand are on track for the driest November on record.

The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research says rainfall in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Lincoln and Otago is likely to be the lowest recorded, while soils in western Kaipara, Horowhenua and South Taranaki are much drier than usual.
