It's heating up on land ... and sea

DROUGHTS affecting in the top of the South Island and top and west of the North Island are spreading, and sea temperatures are increasing, scientists say.

The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research says soil moisture levels are falling in most parts of the country, with little rain expected over most of the country in the coming week.
