Ten years ago, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd abandoned plans for a review of the country’s carbon trading plans.

Rudd had planned to hold a Parliamentary inquiry into the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, due to start in July 2010.

The cap-and-trade scheme was eventually introduced by Rudd’s successor, Julia Gillard, in 2012 as the Clean Energy Futures Package, but was repealed by Tony Abbott’s Government in 2014. | Read the story here
