Ten years ago, plans by United States President Barack Obama to introduce a carbon cap-and-trade scheme to bring reduce the country’s greenhouse gas emissions were under fire.

Senators from the Republican and Democratic parties both questioned the wisdom of imposing the scheme during an economic recession.


However, left-wing senator Bernie Sanders backed Obama’s climate change action agenda, saying he was doing all the right things. | Read the story here
