Foresters fine, but the ETS has some problems

THE FORESTRY sector has behaved rationally in response to the Emissions Trading Scheme - but the scheme itself hasnít always been rational, a new analysis shows.

New Zealand is the only country in the world to have included forestry in an ETS, but hopes that the ability to make money from growing carbon would encourage large-scale new plantings have failed to eventuate.
