Ten years ago, some of New Zealandís biggest emitters were seeking more time to make submissions on the National Governmentís Emissions Trading Scheme review because they were worried submissions would not be heard.

United Future leader Peter Dunne, who headed the review, had ruled out hearing from anyone wanting relitigate the science of climate change.

He then extended the deadline for submissions by two weeks, apparently at the request of the Greenhouse Policy Coalition, whose members included New Zealand Aluminium Smelters, New Zealand Steel, Fonterra, the Coal Association, Carter Holt Harvey, Norske Skog Tasman, Winstone Pulp, Pan Pacific Forest Products, SCA Hygiene, Business New Zealand, Solid Energy and Methanex. | Read the story here
